"The oldest parts of this church date back to the 12th/13th century. "During the rebuilding of the nave in 1772, 'four gods stones' from the Roman period were found in the old foundations. The Gothic-style church [...] was used jointly by the Catholic and Protestant congregations from 1684 to 1902."

The "four gods stones" and two stone sarcophagi are located in front of the church in a kind of "open-air museum."

The Roman four-god stones and two stone sarcophagi are freely accessible on the grounds of the Protestant church in Glan-Münchweiler.

Two of the stones, once parts of Jupiter's columns, were demolished in 1771 during the demolition of the Gothic nave of the prot. Church discovered. The four-sided decorated cuboids of the stones show the gods Juno, Mercury with Caduceus, Minerva and Hercules. The other two stones and the sarcophagi were exposed during restoration work inside the church in 1957-1958. The stones were used as the masonry of the church. The reliefs are poorly preserved, but all images of gods can be named. The Viergöttersteine were once parts of Jupiter's columns, which were widespread in the Roman provinces of Upper Germany, Lower Germany and Gallia Belgica. The oldest and most elaborate Jupiter column is located in Mainz and must have been 12 meters high. The two sarcophagi vividly document the burial of the body as a common burial custom of the late Roman Empire, which increasingly replaced the cremation of the 1st and 2nd centuries.

A special highlight, however, are the two medieval stone sarcophagi and the stones of the four gods, which date from the time of the Romans. They were hidden in the foundation of the church for a long time and were excavated in 1771.
