Riu Barayo is a short coastal river in the north of Spain, that runs through the western part of Asturias. It is born in Busmargalí, in the municipality of Navia, and after a journey of 5-10 km, it flows into the Cantabrian Sea, at the beach that bears its name, Barayo Beach. It is one of the most beautiful and natural places in the region, as it forms a spectacular estuary of high ecological value and scenic quality. It also has a rich fauna, especially of fish species such as eels.
