The Cyriakus Church, newly built in 1700, forms the center of the village together with the listed community center, where the wide-spreading branches of the old chestnut tree on the village square invite you to take a leisurely rest.
Geographically speaking, Gellershausen is the center of the Heldburg region and is known for its natural monument "Seven Oaks".

Gellershausen was first mentioned in documents in 1157.[1] The date 1158 is known to the place. The place was once an outpost of the princely office of Heldburg.
In 1700 the church of St. Cyriacus was rebuilt and the interior was painted in 1714. The village is referred to as the center of the Heldburgerland. 353 inhabitants live in the village.
