The village church Schorbus is a stone building from the 14th/15th. Century. There is probably a previous building from 1240. The church in Schorbus was first mentioned in a document in 1226 in a paper from the Diocese of Meissen. At that time, the church in “Schorbisch” was banned for 4 years. Over the centuries, it survived several fires, including the bombing in April 1945. After that, it was covered with straw for a few years. From 2002 to 2005 the church underwent general maintenance in four construction phases.
