The foundation stone of the predecessor building, the Rhein-Main-Hallen, was laid in 1956 and opened the following year. The building was located on the corner of Friedrich-Ebert-Allee and Rheinstraße. The Taunusbahnhof and the Rheinbahnhof were located here until the opening of Wiesbaden Central Station in 1906.
