The Warzenbacher church was built in the second half of the 14th century or at the latest at the beginning of the 15th century. In a document from 1415 and another from 1421, the church, which - like the collegiate church in Wetter and several other churches in the area - was consecrated to St. Mary and was named “Our dear women from the kingdom of heaven” is mentioned. With the completion of the church at the latest, the parish of Warzenbach was then connected with the parish of Amönau to form a common parish and from then on also looked after as a branch church by the pastors resident there.

In 1592, the Warzenbach church was renovated with regard to the church stalls, as the year mentioned, which is incorporated into the pulpit, shows. By then at the latest, all fittings from the Catholic era have been removed from the church.
