According to the patronage, the Deinschwang Church is one of the very old churches, because St. Martin was Franconia's patron saint. A first house of worship could have existed as early as the 8th century. The current church is thought to date from around 1400. Around 1708 either major redesigns or a new building took place, because the church was consecrated on October 8, 1717. Deinschwang has high-quality art equipment for a village church. The high altar is believed to date from around 1750, the two side altars from around 1600, and some statues may have been made even earlier.
