  • 4 stork's nests in one loop: e.g. start in Schieder (western edge of town) at the road master's office (farm track) up to Steinheimer Holz, between the edge of the forest and the railway to the forester's house (easy path to cycle), slightly downhill towards Steinheim, turn left at the first farmstead, 1st stork's nest; continue slightly uphill to the farm track: just under 3km with a great view of the Steinheim basin and the Egge ridge opposite. At the end of the path you reach Lother Str., on the cycle path for approx. 3-400m to the Rewe market, across the car park to Wiechersweg, follow in the direction of Nieheim to the end of the settlement, immediately right to the Emmer, before the Emmer on the right is the 2nd nest. Back on Wiechersweg and continue to the Eichholz junction, sign for the historic Emmer bridge by the tall trees, 100m further towards Eichholz, right to the 1st farmstead: 3rd stork's nest. Back towards Eichholz to the B1 federal highway. Cross at the pedestrian traffic lights, over the railway line (barrier) onto the farm track towards Vinsebeck (castle and Emmer bridge), road to the town centre, about 50 m behind the bridge on the left by the church is the 4th stork's nest.
Back on cycle paths, agricultural pasture and farmland, e.g. via Steinheim or via Ottenhausen (very good paths and signage) via Wöbbel to Schieder. From Wöbbel the cycle path runs partly along the B 239, almost always at a distance.
