Königsfeld and its surroundings have a lot to offer: The former town with a historic town center has received multiple awards in the competition “Our village should become more beautiful. Our village has a future ”- most recently in 2005 with the silver medal at state level and in 2014 as the winner in the district decision.
It is thanks to the commitment of the residents that the historic town center has been preserved thanks to the loving care and restoration of the old half-timbered houses. It testifies to the historical importance of the place. Königsfeld, first mentioned in a document in 992, was granted city rights in 1336. The place with its wonderful church and historical buildings invites you to treat yourself to a look back at the Middle Ages. During a tour you can experience the eventful history on 15 signs that are attached to historical points in the village.
