In front of the church is a statue of Saint Plechelmus who died in 873 with the inscription: 'from 1940 - 1945'.
In the corner of the square is the 'village pump' with various reliefs on it. And on the other side of the square are father and son Borghuis, who have both meant a lot to the musicality in Oldenzaal.
Even with your head bowed, focused on the pavement, you will know that you are standing in a church square here.March 18, 2021
