Today's chapel, which was probably expanded in the 17th century and 1728, contains wall elements of a Romanesque cult building originally dedicated to Saint Martin from the 13th century. Century decorated. In the vicinity of the chapel there are probably the remains of a wall from a humiliate hospice founded before 1270. Like those of Camperio and Casaccia, it served as a rest stop on Lukmanierstrasse and accommodated travelers along the Narapass (between the Blenio valley and the Leventina). Martino Rossi from Torre, who later became famous as the most important Italian cook of the 15th century, once worked in the hospice.
