Sila National Park

This is the Parco della Sila, one of the four large parks included in the Calabria region. La Sila is a huge plateau positioned above 1,000 meters above sea level, it is a very wild and sparsely inhabited place with enormous charm from a landscape point of view.
It is an area very rich in water and is called the "Great Forest of Italy".

The Sila National Park is one of the most important biosphere reserves that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Historically, the park is also known as the "Great Forest of Italy". It has nine biogenetic nature reserves. One of the most important is the reserve "Giganti della Sila" (Giants of the Sila) in Fallistro. Among other things, ancient black pines (Pinus nigra) grow here.
