The Feigenkopf belongs to the northern foothills of the Ammergau Alps. It can be reached from the Kenzenhütte via the Bäckenalmsattel. Other peaks in the immediate vicinity are the Gruberkopf in the west and the striking Klammspitze. Even the Feigenkopf together with the Hirschwang high plateau offer a great view of the foothills of the Alps around the Forggensee and the Ammergau Alps.

Although the Feigenkopf has no cross and is only characterized by its gentle grassy ridge, it does offer good views of the west side of the Große Klammspitze, to the west towards Forggensee or to the south into the wider Ammergau region.
