A tough climb. I thought that, given that it is part of the E4 and therefore a long-distance hiking trail, it would be better secured and generally less dangerous. Not that it is not doable, but equipped for a multi-day tour with a lot of hiking gear, it was a bit difficult and risky. The route and the view are definitely recommended, but only with light luggage.

The path goes through a forest to the Brunnenkopfhütte. From there you have a fantastic view. From the Brunnenkopfhütte a narrow path leads up to the Klammspitze. Here a sign indicates "Alpine experience, surefootedness and a head for heights required".

You must be sure-footed and have climbing skills and experience in the mountains. Some of the route is secured with ropes and wire ropes. Some of the route involves climbing over scree and rocks on steep slopes. Allow at least 4 hours from the Brunnenkopfhütte to the Kenzenhütte. Only go when the weather is safe. No descents are possible in between.
