The very large boulder was excavated in 2011 during the construction of the OPAL pipeline between Hohenstein and Gladowshöhe. It weighs around 24 tons and has a volume of around 9.2 cubic meters. The stone stands at the end of the village in the direction of Ruhlsdorf, but will probably be set up at its place of discovery after the clarification of the ownership situation, which is currently pending in court. The analyzes of its age, the type of rock and the Scandinavian place of origin have not yet been completed. A procedure for recognition as a ground monument has been initiated (as of August 2012).
