    Until 1967, the Metelsdorf springs supplied the city of Wismar with drinking water for over 400 years. The water was led into the city via wooden pipes. In 2010 it was decided to make the source visible again. Since then, it has been a must-see destination with an enclosure, a pump, an information board and a bench. Meanwhile, the water gushes steadily out of the ground and colors the spring pot reddish due to the iron it contains.
    Not far from the actual source, the trees are half in the water and there, too, it gushes out of the ground. A nice place to linger and discover.
