Ewald Colliery

Directly at the foot of the Hoheward heap lies the mine. There is a lot to see and a beer garden inviting to bratwurst and pils. On the weekends, there are often various events on the mine site.

Old colliery in Herten. Out of which a commercial area has developed. In the Reve-Palast from the House of Startmann there are men in tights singing to see. Good offer of food and drinks.

This explains how you can observe the course of the sun with the help of the steel semicircles and the markings. on June 21, e.g. the sun always exactly the ring at the intersection of the semicircles.
