Even if the view of the Schliersee is fantastic at this point of the east ridge, it goes about 6m down (passage) over small rocks without safety or rope to get to the narrow ridge below and then to the Schlierseespitz. In winter I can only advise against going on without a rope or safety device of my own. The actual way to the Ankelspitz can hardly be seen. Better to turn around and take the safer descent over the high plateau down to the Ankelalm.

Great view towards Munich, Bayrischzell with Wendelstein and of course the Austrian mountains. The direct descent over the path to Neuhaus is not recommended when it is wet or rainy. In this case I would prefer the route over the Ankelalm. Incl. Contemplation!
