The Brecherspitz is about three kilometers as the crow flies south-southwest of Neuhaus am Schliersee; its eastern ridge extends to the Spitzingsattel. It belongs to the middle mountain group of the Mangfallgebirge, the Schlierseer mountains. With its distinctive pyramid shape, it is considered the local mountain of Schliersee. The mountain is first mentioned in the years 1078-1080 in a borderline description of the Hochstift Freising as "mons Spizzinch" (the mountain Spitzing).

Great tour to Brecherspitz, but goes from the Almseite on the mountain. The tour from the parking lot on the mountain saddle is only something for experienced hikers who also want to climb. There are about 2-3 places where a 5 meter wall without protection has to be climbed up. The walls are grippy in summer and easy to get over.

An ascent that has paid off. BUT ATTENTION !!! If you are not afraid of heights and sure-footed, there is a passage that challenges you. The path over the ridge between the "Brecherspitz Vorgipfel" and the Brecherspitz summit is warned by the Alpine Club of a dangerous place.
