The Hönnige is a right tributary of the Wupper. It rises in Halver, flows through the Wipperfürth villages of Kupferberg, Wasserfuhr, Hönnige and Harhausen and flows, fed by the Schevelinger Dam, at the Wipperfürth main town in the Wupper. There is an underground connection from the Wasserfuhr equalization basin to the Neyetalsperre.

Despite the "bridge" you should be careful that you get over the water with dry feet! When it rains, it could be slippery and you might end up in it!

The crossing is well worth seeing but should also be enjoyed with caution as the railings are already rotten.
