    Fessler Mill, Sersheim.
Attention: The way to the mill and past the mill must be a private way. There are several signs on the side of the path with the note: private, or entry prohibited or similar.
The Fessler Mühle is a mill on the Metter in Sersheim in the Ludwigsburg district. It is one of the oldest mills in Baden-Württemberg and is now used as a flour mill, a museum and as a cultural and cabaret stage.
The grain mill was first mentioned in a document in 1396, when the lower miller contributed to an early measurement foundation for the Sersheim church. The designation as lower mill comes from the distinction to another, namely the upper mill, which was also attested in Sersheim in the 14th century. The upper mill was upstream on the Metter and therefore had more favorable water conditions, which is why the lower mill was also called thirst mill in old documents. Both Sersheim mills were fiefdoms from Württemberg. In 1561/62, the Lower Mill included the mill building with a grinding aisle, a courtyard, a barn and a garden. The millers from the upper and lower mills also worked three acres of garden space together. In 1578 two grinding courses are mentioned in the lower mill.

We were out as a group today (Corpus Christi) and were verbally abused when we had to cross the mill grounds to continue our bike tour, and we struggled with our bikes under a barrier. Absolutely anti-advertising for the facility!
