Encircling the village of Newtonmore is the fantastic Wildcat Trail. Around 6 miles (10 km) long, it rewards with sumptuous Cairngorm scenery, waterfalls, a river gorge and there are a few stiff ascents to contend with.

Also, hidden around the village are 132 painted model wildcats, a great treasure hunt for the kids. You can seek more information regarding all things wildcat at the Wildcat Centre by the village hall.
