The Oppenheimer Rheinstrand is located in the middle of the nature reserve. Relaxing works wonderfully on the large sunbathing lawn and the sand and pebble beach on the Rhine. You can sit comfortably in an adjoining restaurant with a terrace. Oppenheim can be easily reached by regional train. From the Oppenheim train station it is another two kilometers through a forest to the bathing area. Parking spaces directly at the lido are very limited. It is advisable to come by bike or on foot.

Hiking

The mussels are here just before the roadside, as if they had washed up on the North Sea after a storm surge. The bays offer pleasant sand (free of shells). The water of the Rhine is pleasantly clean and quite suitable for swimming. From time to time there are a few small waves after a ship has passed. During the hike at the end of March 2021, a number of families and groups enjoyed the warm spring day by the water.
