The church was probably dedicated to Saint Anne.The church was owned by the crown from the Reformation from 1536 to 1678 when King Christian V sold it to Sidsel Knudsdatter Grubbe. She later sold it to her niece's spouse, Johan Didrich von Wettberg, at Østrupgård.
