In 1909, the couple Jan-Baptist Mosselmans-Algoet bought a piece of land next to the town hall, to build a beer warehouse, an inn and a house. In the 1950s, the beer shop was renamed ‘Brouwershuis’, as the brewers from the region met there annually at the famous tripe fair. In 1959, son Guillaume continued the beer brewery until it closed in 1976. Auvicom has been the owner since 1987. Today, the buildings house a department store.
