Wahlholzstrasse is a real house number. On the first 2km you make 260 meters of altitude, an average of 13%. And since the gradient is not uniform, this means that you get over 20% a few times.
But the effort is worth it. The road to the Wahlholzhütte is asphalted and in good condition. There is practically no traffic, only a few residents. Simply scenic with great views, especially from the Wahlholzhütte.
From the Wahlholzhütte you can continue on the rough gravel road towards Freudenstadt, with only a gently rising route, and will be rewarded with further great panoramas.

The side street is paved. It's very steep. Mountain bike means mountain bike. Fits here. I wouldn't get up here on a racing bike.

The climb is tough. Very sweaty.
