    The Castle of Pinzano was a fortified complex protected by walled walls, bastions and towers, naturally defended by its geographical location. It is mentioned for the first time in 1150. In 1352 the fief was ceded to the Savorgnan who held it until 1797, the year of the fall of the Republic of Venice. The centuries-old abandonment, the hardships suffered during the war and the seismic events of 1928 and 1976 have almost completely erased the traces of the imposing complex: around the keep, of which only the foundations remain, there were three walls, the whose remains are still visible; a small village also gathered here, the foundations of which can still be seen, now immersed in the surrounding scrub, but still appreciable by retracing the ancient castle road.

    According to a legend, in the basement of the castle there was a secret chamber that contained the precious treasure of the Pinzano family, the result of the numerous raids in Friuli, as well as the secret tunnels that led up to the Tagliamento.
