Mill tour through Oderwitz - circular hiking trail from Spitzberg through the village of millsOn the Oderwitzer Spitzberg, which offers sweeping views over the Upper Lusatia and the Czech Republic from the lookout rock, the “Bohemian wind” can be felt, which once drove the post mills in the village. If you go down into the valley, past the 587 meter long summer and winter toboggan run, you can discover the Oderwitz mills. In the Birkmühle, built around 1800, you can experience a guided tour of the mill, and marriages are even held in the box room of this “wedding mill”. The Berndtmühle is the oldest, still preserved post mill, built in 1787. The Neumannmühle, the youngest of the group, was brought to this location in 1867 with 18 horse-drawn carts from Bohemia. The Bertholdmühle was once powered by water. The miller shows visitors the mill (by appointment) while production is running.oberlausitz-unterkunft.com/ferien/aktiv/wanderung-vom-spitzberg-durch-das-dorf-der-muehlen-oderwitz.htm
