The hamlet's old schoolhouse is on the main road. The actual small village of Ellikon is located directly on the Rhine. In the village are the Schiff restaurant (schiffellikon.ch) and a self-service restaurant with a beautiful terrace.
In summer there is a ferry (for people and bicycles) to the German shore.
The Thurauen extend in the direction of Flaach. The meadow landscape has numerous oxbow lakes that are flooded by the Thur. In summer, many people are out and about in rubber boats or swimming aids on the Thur and Rhine.
