From the beginning to the middle of March you can admire wild crocuses in Bad Teinach-Zavelstein, northern Black Forest, on a nature reserve covering more than 50 hectares. On the meadows around Zavelstein, thousands of Crocus vernus sprout from the earth and show themselves in their most beautiful splendour. The wild crocus is actually native to the Mediterranean region and is only found in a few places north of the Alps, Zavelstein being the only place in southern Germany.
