The present-day village of Gosen was founded in 1752 at the instigation of the Prussian King Friedrich II. As a colonial settlement. A church building was not planned at that time. Since there was a church in Neu Zittau since 1767, the people of Gosen always had to make their way to Neu Zittau to take part in the church service. The foundation stone for its own church in Gosen was only laid in 1912 and after almost two years of construction, the Gosen village church was inaugurated with a festive service on April 26, 1914. A plastered limestone building with a polygonal end of the choir and a 30 m high tower in front of the north side was created. In the spirit of the Heimatstil movement that prevailed in the Protestant church building at the time and as a reminiscence to the history of the founding of the village in Frederick, a neo-baroque design language was chosen for the church building. A portrait in the interior of Frederick the Great commemorates the founder of the town. The organ was installed in 1914 by the Berlin organ building institute Gebrüder Dinse.
