Beautiful bridge, crazy to ride on it.

Beautiful bridge to do absolutely if you are in these parts.
Breath-taking view; it goes one way.
It is good to inquire if it is open (sometimes it is closed for maintenance)

The San Michele bridge, also known as "Calusco bridge", "Paderno bridge" or "Röthlisberger bridge" is an iron arch bridge, with mixed rail-road traffic, which connects the towns of Paderno d'Adda and Calusco d'Adda crossing a gorge of the Adda river.

A masterpiece recognized as one of the symbols of Italian industrial archeology, in 2017 the bridge was a candidate to be included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites.

One of its peculiarities is the fact that rail traffic flows underneath car traffic.

The bridge was recently closed urgently in September 2018 for extraordinary maintenance, carried out between 2018 and 2020, with progressive reopening to cycle and pedestrian traffic (March 2019), automotive (November 2019) and rail (September 2020) after major consolidation interventions and renovation.

The bridge works in alternating one-way.
