Abstract:
"The spring of sighs was repaired in 1982 by the municipality of Oppenweiler in cooperation with the State Forestry Office Backnang.
The spring of sighs was already used as a water point by the residents of Schiffrain and Wilhelmsheim in earlier times. The idyllic location attracts some walkers to linger here for a while, to relax and to forget the everyday stress for a distance.
The legend tells of a faithless girl who is said to have been walled up there as a punishment. According to a further version, a maid who had been cast out of her rule gave birth to an illegitimate child with sighs and lamentations in the basement-shaped spring version. "
