The former, Catholic parish church of St. Jakobus is a listed church building in Rüdesheim am Rhein. Today St. Jakobus is a branch church of the parish Heilig Kreuz Rheingau, a new type of parish.

The parish church was built in the 12th century on the basis of a vow of Engelhard Brömser. He came from the old Rüdesheim noble family, it is reported that he participated in the 3rd Crusade (1189-1192) and fell into Moorish captivity. He promised to build the church in case of a happy return home. The long awaited miracle took place, he returned and immediately had the church built.
