After tough negotiations, it was agreed in 1730 that only one (and not four, as planned) post-mile column should be used as the market column. In 1884 the Wilsdruffer column was demolished and kept on the Steinrücke in Niederreinsberg. At the instigation of the State Association of Saxon Homeland Security, it was bought back and set up again in 1937. It was initially located on the corner of Freiberger Straße / Scheunenstraße, from 1971 on the corner of Nossener Straße / Gezinge, before being moved to its current, original location in 1998.
