New Palace Neustadt-Glewe

In 1619 the construction of the New Palace began, which was only completed in 1717.

The baroque castle is a two-story, three-winged structure in the style of Dutch classicism with a courtyard of honor and stands on hundreds of oak piles. The interior ceilings of the simple country castle are decorated with elaborate stucco work, the stucco area is around 1600 m². In the New Castle there are 32 fireplaces decorated with rosettes, cornices and figures. The castle now houses the Mercure Hotel Schloss Neustadt-Glewe with a restaurant.
