On the way to the Stauffenburg, a small footpath branches off to the Evalinde on the rampart. This approx. 400 year old natural monument is a summer linden tree with a circumference of a good eight meters. In 2001 the crown broke apart.

It is probably named after the lover of Duke Heinrich the Younger of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel: Eva von Trott was kept hidden by the "wild Heinz" in the Stauffenburg for nine years after she faked her death after this secret affair became known.
