The Volpere path, promoted by the Legambiente Sernaglia club, winds from the Passo Barca area of Falzé di Piave along the left bank of the river to the confluence with the Fontane Bianche and then continues at the foot of the rocky escarpment. The naturalistic peculiarity is undoubtedly the suggestive conglomerate wall, a rock made up of heterogeneous pebbles held together by a matrix of calcium carbonate. This type of sediment, deposited by the ancient floods of the river, is easily eroded by the waters which have created natural ravines of considerable size. The latter offer refuge to numerous animals, including foxes as the toponym itself recalls.
The importance of the site is also due to the presence of settlements dating back to the Mesolithic age, evidenced by the discovery of lithic artefacts of the time. The area has maintained its historical value even in more recent times, thanks to the presence of the "Passo Barca" (connection point between the right and left banks of the river) active until the 1970s, and the "Porto delle Zattere" , where the crew changes of the raftsmen took place.
Along the route you will encounter mythological personifications of natural phenomena: the Matharol, forest elf, and the Anguane, female creatures with zoomorphic characteristics linked to water.

in Falzè, along the route, a stop at the rebuilt raft in the recreational area is recommended, where there are comprehensive illustrative tables

The table well illustrates the history of the Falzè pontoon bridge on the Piave
