The Broich Bach has been a body of water that has been flowing for centuries, which contributed significantly to the formation of the Broichbachtal between Broich settlement and Herzogenrath and which also led to early human settlement. Numerous mills contributed to the livelihood of the population living here and shaped nature and life. Today the Broichbachtal recreational area with a total size of 86.4766 hectares is designated here.
