Aachen–Jülich Rail Trail

Aachen-Jülich Railway Cycle Route
A continuous and comfortable cycle route is being created between Aachen and Jülich, covering approximately 30 km, along the former Aachen-Nord-Jülich railway line. The city region has been expanding the cycle path in its area in several construction phases since 2014. From the district border north of Alsdorf-Hoengen, the Düren district also began the expansion in 2019 towards Jülich.
The Aachen-Nord-Jülich railway line was closed in the early 1980s and subsequently largely dismantled.
Pedestrian and cycle paths were subsequently constructed along this railway line in some sections, although some are narrower and mostly unpaved.
The railway cycle path will serve as an attractive alternative to cars for cyclists on their journeys to work, shopping, and leisure activities. The cycle path should continue to be developed into a premium product and in this respect meet the quality requirements of long-distance cycle paths/railway line cycle paths.

The bike from Aachen-Nord to Jülich for also through the beautiful district Alsdorf -Hoengen. The bicycle has been continuously expanded in recent years and is very popular with cyclists.
