The Louise-Michel square in the Bout-du-Quai district in Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) was redeveloped during the All Saints 2020 holidays.

In five days, from October 19 to 23, 2020, this square located along the Dolto crèche in the Bout-du-Quai district in Dieppe, has completely changed its face.

Exit the large hedge and the ivies, hello to the new green spaces replanted and carefully delimited by paving stones and small fences. And all this to make the site more pleasant and, above all, to prevent dogs from defecating there.

In charge: eight motivated young people. Aged 14 to 17, they are members of L’Archipel, the social center of downtown Dieppe. It is this structure that set up this young volunteer worksite project with the help of the City, the regional Youth and Sport department and the family allowance fund.

The idea is simple: each day, the six girls and two boys worked in the square for six hours, and as a reward, they spent the rest of the day and nights at the Varenne plein air base. There, they were able to enjoy leisure activities such as paddleboarding, archery, canoeing ...

For the environment
The young people were supervised by Jennifer Keckmann, their referent for Archipel, and supported in their work by Jean-François Roger, Sylvain Walmacq, Thomas Grenier, Ludovic Lacointe and Johan Toutain from the green spaces department.
