The pilot whale is a narrow remnant of an area that comprised a large part of Hoogvliet before 1920. First a high park with a pond surrounded by reeds behind it that gives an idea of what the mudflats once looked like. We enter the willow on a beautifully landscaped boardwalk.
There is even a piece of model pilot whale that is maintained by the Zuid-Hollands Landschap. Further on is a wild pilot whale where the willows could grow and which slowly develops into a tidal willow forest. It is a small paradise that reminds of a great past.translated by•May 21, 2021
