Hiking

The nature reserve Mombeekvallei is situated between agricultural lands in Alken and Sint-Lambrechts-Herk. You will find bushes and thickets. But also meadows full of flowers and small bushes. The heart of the Mombeek valley consists of the Mombeek and the Oude Mombeek. An ideal environment for a nice walk. Hiking

More than 250 plant species bloom here. Especially in late spring, the recently developed hay fields display their splendor of color again. Nineteen species of butterflies flutter around here again. Small endangered mammals and amphibians find refuge in the Mombeek Valley. The sighting list with more than ninety bird species proves the importance of the area for the region.
