Contrary to popular belief, there is no panic in this village. In fact, it is a very quiet place overlooking the Reno river. The name "Panico" derives from a type of cereal that was formerly grown in these areas. The cereal would also give the name to the district of Bologna "Borgo Panigale." From here, you can continue up to Marzabotto, or start the climb to access the historic Monte Sole regional park.

Road cycling

Lovely view down the river Reno from Panico, perfect selfie location. The road is quiet and in reasonable condition. Follow the road (south) down the hill passed Canovella and across the pedestrian bridge to Marzabotto.
