"... The Rosengasse meanders picturesquely uphill through Johannisberg, past romantic half-timbered houses and famous wineries. At the highest point of the village, with a breathtaking view over the entire Rhine plain, it sits enthroned - in the middle of extensive vineyards, surrounded by a two-hectare , Mediterranean park - Schwarzenstein Castle. The way it stands there, with its strikingly curved silhouette made of local quarry stone and the castle tower towering above everything, it reminds you a little of old crusaders. But far from it. The castle was only built in 1873, by Peter Arnold Vimes..."
