The Imsbach manor chapel

The chapel was built in 1904 by Bertha Wilhelmine, née Böcking, for her late husband Louis Albert Lapointe as a grave. She, too, found her final resting place in the crypt in 1929. In addition, the remains of Colonel Charles Louis Narcisse Lapointe (1773-1855) were transferred to the chapel as early as 1904 and his grave obelisk was placed next to it. From 1953 to 1965 the chapel served as a prison church for a correctional facility that was temporarily set up on the estate. After renovation measures in the 1980s, the chapel fell into a twilight state. Between 2005 and 2007, the Association of Friends of the Gutskapelle Imsbach provided substantial cash and monetary benefits for a comprehensive renovation of the chapel in accordance with historical monuments and an appealing design of the chapel area. Since then, the chapel has served as a registry office and a cultural venue. The key to the chapel is available from the Hotel-Restaurant Hofgut Imsbach. The crypt is not accessible.
