If you are not too tired from the hike through the forest, you can climb the Friedrichsturm and get a good view of Freudenstadt and its structure. In terms of urban planning, it is structured like a mill game, as can be read in the description.

The Friedrichsturm stands in a small park and offers a fantastic view of Freudenstadt. It is 34m high and dates from 1899.

The 34 m high Friedrichsturm on one of the highest elevations of the region (1,002 m) was built in 1891. The memorial stone located about 1 km away on the trail to Herrenwieser See commemorates Philipp Bussemer, one of the founding fathers of the Baden-Baden local group of the Black Forest Association.
From the tower, the hiker can enjoy the enchanting view over the forests of the northern Black Forest and across the Rhine plain to the Vosges in clear weather. After a comprehensive renovation, which the Schwarzwaldverein Baden-Baden e.V. carried out with the help of many donations, the tower has been accessible again since May 2003.

The Friedrichsturm was built in 1899 as a gift from the citizens for the 300th anniversary of the city. Since then he has attracted both locals and tourists as he offers a beautiful view of the city and the surrounding area.
The tower is open from May to October.

The ascent to the 25 m high Herzog-Friedrich-Turm is absolutely recommendable, because from above there is a wonderful panoramic view of Freudenstadt, towards the Swabian Alb and the extensive forests and mountain ridges of the Black Forest.

The view from the top of the tower to Freudenstadt is very nice. The tower is located in a small park, where there are also some fragrant roses and many benches.
North of the tower there is another nice café with a viewing terrace.

If you have the opportunity, you should go up the 25 m high tower. Climbing around 150 steps is absolutely worthwhile for a great all-round view.
