The Schifferlerbeek is one of the tributaries of the Caumerbeek, which is a side branch of the Geleenbeek.
The Caumerbeek, popularly known as 'het Zilverbeekje', is a side stream of the Geleenbeek and has its source at the former windmill Bovenste Caumer in the Heerlen district Heerlerbaan. The stream lies together with the upper reaches of the Geleenbeek and its tributaries in the Basin of Heerlen. This stream with a length of 11 kilometers flows largely through the urban area of the municipality of Heerlen. The brook has been normalized and was covered over a length of approximately 6.5 kilometers until 2010, with the bottom covered with concrete and tiles. Since 2010, the brook has regained a more natural, free course.
