The Reformed Parish Church of Oberwart is on the western outskirts, in Reformed Kirchengasse 11 in the municipality of Oberwart. The church belongs to the Reformed Parish Oberwart of the Evangelical Church H.B. in Austria and is listed under the property ID 8331. The church is the oldest Protestant church building in present-day Austria that has been continuously used as such. As the only articulate congregation in present-day Austria, the Reformed congregation of Oberwart was allowed to exist during the Counter-Reformation and was thus able to build a new church before the tolerance patent of 1781 was issued. The church was built from 1771 to 1773 with the master builder Christoph Preising from Pinkafeld and consecrated on January 10, 1773. The tower was added in 1808/1809 with the builder Matthias Preising from Pinkafeld. The tower clock dates from 1907. The interior was renovated in 1990, during which the interior, simple in the Calvinist tradition, was given its original color. In 1998/1999 an exterior renovation took place. The elongated church building has two rows of windows and a flat end. The mighty west tower has a high upper floor and has a high multi-parted onion helmet. The nave has a flat ceiling without a yoke division. The three-sided wooden gallery stands on cast iron supports. A simple table forms the altar. The late Baroque pulpit from 1773 has a sound cover crowned with a carved figure of a pelican. The neo-baroque organ was built by Friedrich Werner from Graz in 1873 for the 100th anniversary of the consecration of the church.
