Built: middle of the 18th century - consecrated to the Blessed Mother Mary - owner: Buchberger familyThe Marien house chapel is owned by the family of Josef and Rita Buchberger. Judging by the stylistic features, the chapel was probably built in the middle of the 18th century in a picturesque architectural style.
In the early 1980s, the chapel was completely renovated after the vault was lifted from the roots of the old linden tree and broken out. The well-tended chapel is quiet and safe under a group of trees directly on the country road from Hohenwart to Schrobenhausen in the Laag district of Waidhofen on the owner's farm. The upper area of the entrance door is provided with wooden struts so that the interior of the chapel can be seen at any time. In summer the chapel is open every Sunday and it is also included in the annual petition. The altar is decorated with plastic portraits and framed by four columns crowned by chapters and is dedicated to Mary, Queen of Heaven. In the hustle and bustle of our time, it invites us to meditation and silent remembrance.
